Help Me Get Encyclopedia for the Betrayed into More Women's Hands

I'm asking my beloved secret sisters here to do me a favor: A friend of mine, a book publicist, offered me some advice regarding how to promote Encyclopedia for the Betrayed when I'm a) unable to do traditional promotion because I wrote under a pseudonym and b) when I have a $0 budget. Her advice? Get Amazon to promote it for me. And this happens when it goes up in rankings. And that happens when people click on the page. You don't even have to buy it (though, if you haven't yet, what are you waiting for?). You just need to click through. And you can click through as often as you want. Each time sends some sort of magic code message to the algorithm that says, "hey, this book is generating some attention. Let's tell others about it."
So...if you could add "click through to the Amazon page of Elle's book, which is right here to your list of to-dos each day, or a few times a week, or whenever you remember, I would really really appreciate it.
Please help me get this book into as many betrayed wive's hands as I can.
Thanks, in advance, for your support and your help.

  1. I didn't find you until I was into my pain for awhile. I wish I had a book like this initially. It does get better. I never thought I would survive and be remotely happy again. Congrats and this book will be of comfort to anyone who is suffering from betrayal.

  2. I clicked through and I wrote a review, under a pseudonym, so I'm quaking in my boots a little hoping it doesn't link to my actual amazon account. yikes. If it works, I'll let everyone here know, so more of you can feel safe posting a review. :)

    1. SS1 - Please do! I was actually going to ask how to do that. I have been hesitant to leave a review for this very reason!

    2. Hey SS1, Saw your review. Thank-you so much. Clicked on the name and it didn't really take me anywhere but to a vague account. Hope that's okay.

    3. Yup! you are welcome. I'm making clicking on the book link part of my morning coffee routine. :)
So I did the review under the amazon account I use every day. I did, however, change my last name to just an initial and I removed my "photo" which was just some random art associated with my business. I know Amazon has this thing where if you are commenting or reviewing "sensitive" material they mask or otherwise make it private (ex. reviewing a book on, let's say, erectile dysfunction, or reviewing some personal lubricant product). But its not totally clear how they categorize what as sensitive.
So, as Elle suggest below, if you really want a completely anonymous ability to review, I'd recommend creating a separate email account (like gmail - its free and you can have multiple) and then creating an Amazon account under that to do your BWC related reviews. But also know that you can do it under your regular account without much harm or visibility if you take the step to de-specify your name. You can do this on the fly during your review. Just know that this becomes your "name" across Amazon.
If you want to see what my review looks like and how much you can learn about me when you click through, check it out on amazon here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R121VFZ14BVVJQ/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07GGNHTB4

  3. SS1 I too am tying to find a way to write under a pseudonym without renaming my entire account. I can't figure out away, but I will keep clicking!! This should be incredibly easy to find for everyone who needs it!

    1. I use my BWC e-mail address rather than my regular work one.

  4. I just ordered it and am looking forward to reading it. It’s been 2.5 years since discovery day and I am still broken. We have separated a few times briefly but always get back together. But I can’t forgive or accept or move forward; the betrayal was too great for too long - our entire relationship of 36 years. It’s bizarre to write that and realize how thoroughly I was hoodwinked by a master manipulator. I need to end this marriage and start my life over but I’m paralyzed by depression and anxiety. It’s a huge mess.

    1. I hope the book has arrived and has given you some comfort/help with healing. I felt still broken at 2.5 years. It's a long long road. Can you point to anything that has improved? Any joy in your life at all? It helps to notice those things and hang on to them...

    1. Hi Flower,
It's something I've thought of. Not sure if I would find someone else to do the voice or do it myself. Is there a reason you need an audiobook (ie. visual impairment?).
